Padel is a racket sport usually played in doubles on a smaller, enclosed court surrounded by glass walls. The game's unique setup adds an exhilarating twist to the gameplay, creating a fast-paced, high-intensity experience that's easy to learn but challenging to master.
It doesn’t matter what your fitness, age, or gender is. You can learn and play padel. Because of how it’s played, the game also helps in team building and networking, making you some new friends.
Padel may seem similar to tennis, but it’s different. For instance, consider the racket. Padel players use solid, stringless padel rackets to hit a slightly smaller, less-pressurized ball than a tennis ball.
Also, the court is relatively small, and walls allow for a dynamic and strategic game. How? Shots can be angled, lobs can be executed, and volleys become a key element of the strategy. A padel court’s size is 20 meters long and 10 meters wide, with a height of 4 meters.
Enrique Corcuera, a Mexican businessman and passionate tennis player, invented padel in the late 1960s in Mexico. His idea was to modify tennis to make it more accessible and enjoyable to his family and friends when he visited his vacation home. This is why padel and tennis have similarities.
The game quickly gained popularity in Mexico and soon spread to other Spanish-speaking countries, particularly Spain. Currently, Spain and Argentina have the most padel courts in the world. Today, padel is one of the fastest-growing sports globally, with millions of players and dedicated courts opening up across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Padel+ has a state-of-the-art facility that serves Padel players of all levels. The club has professional padel courts, shops, expert coaches, changing rooms, and shops.
