This June don’t miss the Hong Kong Science Fair where 120 shortlisted teams from primary and secondary local and international schools will be showcasing their outstanding innovative projects. This year’s theme is “Think Big, Be Innovative” and will feature six interactive zones designed for families to engage in hands-on experiences and workshops. Among the favorites are the ‘Laboratory Series’ workshops, including the ‘Magic Vit-C’ workshop where participants delve into the chemical interactions between vitamin C and fresh fruits, enhancing their understanding of food science. The ‘Sand-sitivity’ workshop allows for a tactile exploration of sand’s texture and color, while ‘Draw Me to the Stars’ uses technology to transform physical drawings into a virtual world inhabited by space creatures. The ‘HKSF Odyssey’ invites visitors to traverse the exhibition hall and collect unique astronaut postcards.
Moreover, the fair will highlight cutting-edge scientific and technological research from local universities and institutions. Experts will be available to discuss the practical applications and future developments of new technologies, promoting collaboration across industry, academia, and the public.
This edition of the Science Fair received nearly 330 project submissions from over 1,400 students and teachers from 130 local and international schools, spanning grades Primary 4 to Secondary 6. Notably, about 50 schools are participating for the first time. A panel of industry experts and scholars has selected 120 finalist teams who will showcase their projects across categories such as ‘Smart City & Smart Home’, ‘Medical & Healthcare’, ‘Sustainability’, and ‘Education’. Attendees have the opportunity to vote for the ‘Most Popular Award’, directly supporting and inspiring these young innovators in their creative journeys.
