Picture the ultimate pre-school playgroup but for dogs… and that would give you the West Kowloon Art Park. Serving sea-side views, expansive green spaces, pets galore, and cafes that feed both furr-riends and their owners, this park is perfect for a full day out with your pooch. Your dog must always be kept on a leash, however, if he or she prefers some leash-free time, run on over to the designated Pet-Zone equipped with pet waste bins and a water tap. Refuel at Hooman, a pet-friendly café, that will spoil you with choices of doggie treats, as well a coffee and snacks for the humans.

Bow Wow! This one will be sure to impress your favorite four-legged family members. Though the name may suggest otherwise this park is made just with your dog’s happiness in mind. Featuring a pets’ activity area, excretion bins, as well as play equipment such as railings to walk over or around, rings to jump through and more, your sweet pups will love burning off their exciting energy here while testing their agility!

If your dog prefers to play with dogs his own size, then you’ll appreciate the Cheung Wan Street Rest Garden, where there are two designated areas for dogs – one for larger hounds and one for the smaller ones. If you’ve got small kids, then this is the perfect dog park to bring the whole family, too, as there’s also a children’s playground for kids to burn off some energy, as well as three pavilions and nine arbors for you to sit in and relax. Pack some snacks for the pups and the kids and be ready for a sweet afternoon with the whole fam in tow.

The park offers large, open green spaces for picnics and puppy play dates, as well as a playground for kids, so that all your babies – humans and animals, alike – are taken care of. Bring along a picnic mat to enjoy an afternoon of relaxing and dogs socializing with other doggy-mates.

Bark on over to Penfold Park, the “green lung” of Hong Kong, for some fresh air, lush grassy areas, and pet-friendly outdoor fun! Nestled inside the Sha Tin Racecourse, and managed by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, the lawns cover more than 20 acres and comprise of three man-made lakes where your dogs can paddle around, bird watch the wild migratory waterbirds, or simply roam the grassy area on non-race days. Known to be one the most pet-friendly spaces in HK, there are leisure facilities for both pets and their paw-rents, such as benches, picnic tables, and a kid’s playground.

Easily accessible in the Central District, Tamar Park boasts of two large circular, enclosed dog parks so that your dogs can run and play off-leash on the green! And with the Government’s addition of more parks to be operated as “inclusive parks for pets” you can now even walk your dogs from the Observation Wheel along the waterfront for some splashing views while your dog fits in more exercise. Other notable features at this park include the floating platform, the Tamar café, as well as the amphitheater.

Covering an area of about 3.8 hectacres, The Tung Chung North Park is popular for the those in nearby areas such as residents of Caribbean Coast and Coastal Skyline. Designed for everyone in the family to enjoy themselves, you’ll find a dedicated space for everyone here – from a designated, quaint pet garden for your sweet pets to a children’s play area, a skateboard ground, a hard-surfaced soccer pitch, a jogging track, an elderly fitness corner, as well as a Chinese herbs garden.

Fenced-in and better suited for smaller dogs, the Tsuen Wan Pet Garden is another great space for letting your canines run leash-free in the safety of the enclosure. Conveniently located at the Central Western District Promenade off the Tsuen Wan MTR station, this park is a great one to let your dog begin socializing and playing with others. Smaller than most other dog-parks, you can keep a closer eye but still let your dog run freely, while useful facilities such as benches, bins for dog-waste, as well as a place to wash hands are available.

Popular and suitable for dogs of all sizes is the Wan Po Road Pet Garden, which sits adjacent to the Tseung Kwan O South Waterfront Promenade. Three separated areas based on your dog’s size makes this great for dogs who prefer to play with others their own size – one area is for smaller dogs, one for larger ones, and a third for dogs of all sizes to mix and socialize. The park also features pet activity areas, waste bins, a pet shower area, rain shelters, benches, as well as lawns – so there is plenty for your sweet pals to enjoy!
